What we collect
Log61 collects only the information you provide directly:
- Your email and password (password is stored as a bcrypt hash, never in plain text)
- Flight log entries you create, including dates, aircraft, routes, and hours
- Any endorsements or instructor records you add
- Google Drive backup — if enabled, we store a refresh token to upload backups on your behalf
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to operate your logbook. We use it to:
- Display your flights, totals, currency, and rating progress
- Generate PDF and CSV exports you request
- Upload backups to your Google Drive if you enable that feature
- Send you a response if you contact us through the contact form
We do not sell or share your data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information or flight data with any third party. Your logbook is yours.
The only external services Log61 uses are:
- Google Drive API — only if you explicitly connect your Google account. We request the
drive.filescope, which limits access to files Log61 itself creates. We cannot read the rest of your Drive. - Resend used to send a reply when you submit the contact form. Your message is not stored or shared beyond what is needed to respond.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on a private server. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS.
Google OAuth
Log61 offers optional Google Drive integration so you can automatically back up your logbook as a CSV each night. To enable this, you authorize Log61 through Google's OAuth 2.0 flow. We store only the refresh token needed to perform backups. We request only the drive.file scope Log61 can only access files it created and cannot read, modify, or delete anything else in your Google Drive.
You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from the Data page. Doing so immediately deletes the stored refresh token from our database.
Your rights
You can export all of your flight data at any time as a PDF or CSV from the Data page. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page.
